Avantgarde modifications?

In an attempt to make my stereo system more visually appealing (not so high and dominating in the living room) I am considering separating the woofer cabinets from the mid range and tweeter horns of my Avantgarde Mk2 Uno speakers. Separation would allow me to mount the mid horn below the tweeter (still keeping it set at ear height) and mount them both in a new appropriate support structure along the design lines of the factory frame. The woofer cabinets would then be positioned alongside the horns rather than below them as per the original factory arrangement and thus reduced the height. Any thoughts on the aural implications of this? Thanks
