Check out BBA. I have his lowboy rack and an amp stand. Highly recommended.
AV rack - Quadraspire Evo
One of next steps in getting my room up to speed slowly slowly, is finally getting a semi proper AV rack. I currently have one of those cheaper amazon glass ones. I dont want to spend too too much, roughly in the 750 USD range. I am in Canada though, so Im limited in my options. I would prefer to have something I can pick up locally. I also want 5 shelves.
At the top shelf, it would be my turntable (which I have at the moment on a Isoacoustics Zazen). Followed by phono, then preamp then streamer/dac. I will most likely get a separate streamer and dac in the future, hence needing 5 shelves. Im in a detached home in the basement, so there isnt really any external vibrations, except for whatever the Speakers give out while playing.
For now, I wanted opinions and feedback on the Quadraspire Evo model (https://quadraspire.co.uk/q4-evo-original-hifi-racks/) bamboo shelves. This seems to be the nicest looking one from the options I have so far.
The next option is Norstone, however, I am not crazy about the look of it. In my price range it would be the Norstone STABBL series, the glass one, but I dont think it comes with 5 shelves. There is the thicker Bamboo one, but its more expensive. Unless there is an overwhelming Yes to this one versus the Quadraspire Evo, then I can think about it.
Lastly, there is the Salamander Design Archetype 5.0 Stand, I can select Maple wood. Im not super crazy about the look, but again, if there is enough feedback on this one versus the Quadraspire, I can look into it.
Some local ones in Canada I would have loved, but cant really afford, would have been Massif or Canopee. but they are in the 3000++ range.
Lastly, I will also slowly look into eventually getting some isoacoustic isolators for some of the equipment. My premap already has herbies feet on them.

@skads_187 From one Canuck to another, this can be a fun DIY project. Have a look at this post I did a couple years ago. There is a section on building the rack. If you are interested in this, send me a PM and I'd be happy to share any information I have. Cheers https://forum.audiogon.com/discussions/my-final-system-build-in-words-pictures |
Thanks for some of the responses so far! @willywonka I wish I can get those SVT series, they look amazing. @bigtwin I wish, if I didnt have so many other home projects coming up, I would! |
