Interesting so up sampling does not necessarily improve sound quality?

Started using Audrivana on MacBook Pro into my RME ADI-2 Dac
can anyone give me some advice on settings? Specially the settings tab regarding upsampling. I want to get the best out of my iTunes library of which most is standard 16/44k. Should I bother trying to up to DSD? Don’t know enough about this stuff so I would appreciate any help.
