Audio Research LS-25 MKII vs. Pass Labs X-1

Hello, I am building a system and want to use a pre-amp after the home theater processor (probably will be a Lexicon MC12). The preamp will run a 4 channel amp (a Theta Dreadnaught I own) which will be biamping my front L/R speakers. I am curious to know which of these 2 premaps people would prefer in this type of setup. I will be using the HT processor 70% of the time but for the 30% I listen to music, I do not want the sonic compromises of using the HT processor as an analog stereo preamp. Am I better off using the tubed pre from ARC or the solid state from Pass. Thanks!
