Audio Reseaech D100 amp and SP5 preamp sound

Hey all, I have a Audio Research D100 amp and a SP5 preamp. I am using my original Pinnacle PN8+ speakers with Transparent audio cables and interconnects. Sound is reat but I wish I had more on the low end(bass) Would a subwoofer cure this?
