Atma-Sphere Class D… Amazing

Today I picked up my Atma-Sphere Class D Amps. These aren’t broken in yet. And they are simply amazing. I’ve listen to a lot of High End Class D. Some that cost many times what Atma-Sphere Class D costs. I wasn’t a fan of any of them. But these amps are amazing. I really expected to hate them. So my expectations were low. The Details are of what I’ve never heard from any other amps. They are extremely neutral. To say the realism is is extremely good is a gross understatement. They are so transparent it’s scary. These amps just grab you and suck you into the music. After I live with them some and get them broken in. And do some comparisons to some other high end Amps Solid State, Tubes and Class D’s, also in other systems I’ll do a more comprehensive review. But for now, these are simply amazing amps.. Congrats to Ralph and his team. You guys nailed on these.

Spec sheets are only part of the equation.

Purfi looks great on paper but sounded like garbage in my systems.

@kuribo has a crush on Bruno and any other designer, engineer is an abomination in his eyes. The only time he posts is when people are praising a product that is not  made by his boy Bruno. Then his energy is spent slamming it when he knows nothing of it.

Ralph stays above the fray and continues to sell his products and gains a larger following in spite of Kuribo.

I have personally owned Purify equipped Integrated and it was very bland, soulless,  uninspiring. Guess that is why there is so many of these units for sale here and at USAM.

Kuribo you are entitled to your opinions and I chose to use a spec sheet as only one leg of the decision process, the most important being how a piece will sound in my system paired with the equipment I already own. Often the spec sheet looses.

This is more often than not, an emotional process and the music has to touch your soul. Data be dammed.

@kuribo maybe crush was harsh. All you have done here is put Ralph’s design down. Praising Orchard and belittling every other amplifier design hardly makes you objective in you admirations. Not shallow just facts from these pages.

As ghasley said start a thread or go for a walk. I am doing the latter I have a lunch date.

@kuribo then drop Ralph a line or go over to whatsbestforum.com where there are several manufacturers posting. Bet they tear you up.

@kuribo is a broken fricken record. You are like that old junkyard dog that gets a hold of a bone and will not let go.

Let it go, you are truly one dimensional.

I would rather hear an explanation from the designer/producer himself rather than the ruminations of a 3rd party.

THEN CALL HIM !!!
EMAIL HIM!!

JUST LET GO or better yet just go.

@kuribo you should just switch OFF!

Ralph has built some great audio equipment and given us all the gift of his knowledge and his wonderful engineering talent.

All you bring is the same old crap about crap, your posts are like that gerbil running on the wheel, they go nowhere.

@niodari no he is just brow beating Ralph because he loves his new amplifiers.

Please!

Have a good evening.

So here is a question, @kuribo has gone hard at the aforementioned amplifiers built by Ralph and his fine company, question is have you an opinion (yep regret that now) on the AGD GaN mono blocks?

@kuribo that was sarcasm really do not care. We know you are a homeboy for Bruno.

ASR is missing you, 👋

Quite subjective. I call it a crush.

I won’t apologize for having an appreciation for excellence, regardless of the source.

As many trade publications and review's by professionals and laymen have illustrated over the years.

Each will make that determination based on the factors that matter to them. Measurements may or may not even matter in some cases.

Worse, is he is using an Audioholics  video with that nasty Gene.

3 of a perfect pair.

Great question, I do not think many dealers are keeping much stock anymore. The last few years it seems that you had to wait for an appliance to come in from the distributor. Even pre pandemic I can remember having to wait a week or two.

I find it interesting that Ralph is predicting the eventual demise of tubed power amps. Aside from the supply chain issues and embargos with Russia I think they will be around for quite some time. Now I do like some of the newer class D amps including Ralphs. I think that the goal has been to get as close to the sound of a tubed amplifier with more efficiency and reduced cost. I recall reading an interview of that Bruno P fella and he said as much.

Wish there were more GaN integrated though. Trying to cut back on boxes.

Ralph has a winner as do Orchard and AGD.

@holmz  go back to ASR where you wear the badge of honor as a super donor. With you extension cord cables.

You guys are like herpes just wont go away. And no I do not have personal experience.

@sdl4 sounds about right as they both are  Japanese cartoon's, comics, children's games.  Must be sad.
