ATC SCM12 Pro - SMSL AD18 vs Hypex NC400
Please forgive the noobish questions.
I'm new to passive speakers and recently got a pair of SCM12 Pro's. I bought a cheap SMSL AD18 to tide me over till I get something more powerful. It's only 40 watts in 8 ohms which as I understand is woefully underpowered for these particular speakers.
It sounds good.
I'm looking at getting a pair of Hypex NC400 monoblocks. My question is will the performance of these speakers improve at low listening levels? I don't play loud often. 90% of the time I wont be playing them any louder than I can do with this current amp.
Does anybody have any experience making the switch from a budget amp to something like the Ncore? Or anyone with SCM11\12 Pro and the NC400.
Cheers.
