Both Sovtek and EH are made at the Sovtek plant. EH just cold plates the pins, which I suppose could make a difference in sound. I have not noticed any difference between the basic Sovtek's that ARC supplies and the gold pinned EH that I bought from Upscale Audio in my Ref 40 (and that's a good thing, given that Upscale is ~½ the price).
