Careful. There are electronic crossovers on the market that do just that. Send certain frequencies to particular drivers. however, many speakers require wave shaping circuitry incorporated in their crossovers.
It is always good to ask the manufacturer what they recommend.
For example, some have recommended the Krell KBX crossover and that they can modified by Krell for particular speakers. That means that circuitry is added to accommodate a particular speaker.
Krell was excellent at doing just that. I believe Bryston does that as well.
