ARC SP-6C onboard phono amp vs. Schiit Mani

Hello:

I have another audio query and so again I turn to thee.

I've been using the phono preamp in my SP-6C to play vinyl. The SP-6C phono amp does pretty well but i have to say that the signal output is markedly lower than any of the SP-6C's aux outputs. It requires an increase in gain from the SP-6C of about 10% or so.

The question is, would I get better results using a Schiit Mani -> SP-6C aux input?
The Mani gets a lot of praise online. Could it in fact outperform the SP-6C's phono section? The Mani is of modest size and price, but then of course the SP-6C is 30 years old, so...

Thanks in advance. If it helps matters, listed below is my signal chain:

Nagaoka MP-150 -> Rega Planar 2 / RB 250 -> ARC SP-6C preamp -> ARC D90 amp -> Proac Response 2.5

Be well and stay safe.
All the best

The phono stages in the SP6 series are still some of the best ever! I doubt that the cheap Mani can equal the SP6. I have an SP6 and would never replace it with a Shiit!
