I’m happy for you that $27 patch works. For now.
Than YOU, for wonderful civility here.

Apple iOS 17.1.2 and Audioquest Dragonfly Cobalt
Strange as it may seem, my Dragonfly Cobalt is no longer compatible with my iPhone or my iPad since the latest iOS software upgrade. I called both Apple and Audioquest. Audioquest said that at times, Apple upgrades have shown to disconnect certain USB devices and that Apple needs to add a patch to their software, which should only take a day or two. Apple said they don’t know what the problem is but that this current software down load has been available since November the 7th. Anyway, when I plug in my Dragonfly, I get a message saying ‘Apple does not support this device’. However, it works fine on my Mac Mini but of course that’s a different operating system. I don’t own a digital player except for a 5th generation iPod and that’s a sonic compromise compared to the DAC, iPhone and earbuds that I was using just a couple of weeks ago. Anyone familiar with this problem and is there an antidote? Thanks!
@fuzztone Actually I got it to work. I took a trip to the Apple Store, borrowed a USB to lightening camera adapter and it worked. So now I have to shell out $27.00 for a new adapter and I'll be set! I don't disagree with what you said however, thanks for sharing your input and Happy Holidays! |
Apple likes to work with ONLY Apple devices. Like NO UPnP for them. It costs too much to support everyone else. Google thinks it coss too much to support their own products. Like they are gonna abandon Nest thermostats next year. Products are not made to last anymore, They are made to be obsolete within varying periods so you get to replace them with fresh money. Just enjoy your wonderful native Apple sound and have happy holidays. A used lossless or better DAP would further your SQ, maybe even without the AQ Cobalt plug in. |
