Apollo/Transco, 1/2 Lacquer-makers, has burned to the ground.

For anyone who buys new or remastered vinyl, this is going to hurt. A lot. The vinyl record industry is likely going to see a 50% slowdown in production for quite a while. Used and new stuff is going to go up in price as demand for lacquers will now far outpace the ability (for the ONE company left on Earth that can do it) to supply them. Artists will lose what is really the only income left from physical media. Record labels will fold or shutter production, supply chain companies throughout the industry (and their employees) will be out of work.
Luckily no injuries, but a ton of toxins released.
Maybe it’s time to finally move to digital streaming as my way of listening to music...
I have resisted for years.
