I had it and its successor then moved on to MIT Z-Center...each was an improvement but they were all good units in their day; (API especially, considering value for the $$$). On retrospect, there was probably some degree of dynamic limiting and it also brought a slightly dark tone to the music (not such a bad thing during early digital). I have since come to the Pi Audio Uber Buss and it is remarkably effective. In fact, it actually seems to "boost" power / energy / dynamics / pace... I have one for amps/subwoofer and another for front end. There is so much to choose from nowadays...
