I heard a pair recently at a friends house and they sounded very good to my ears. they were open and non fatiguing at the same time (a rare feat). the bass was adequate and balanced for their size. for room shaking dynamics a sub would be required but for accurate music listening they were fine. they indeed are an excellent value in my book, the new tweeter was a smart upgrade for the company. I have two pairs of 2000.00 speakers at home and the aperions would stand in their company easily. the cherry finish is way above average as well
