Anyone using pro/broadcast player as a transport?

I have been looking around for a CD player to use as a transport with AES/EBU output and there is not a great deal available it would seem for a reasonable price.

There are Denon(DN-C620+DN-C640) and some HHB and Tascam products available as well for $500-$1000 that have balanced digital output, is anyone using this type of product with good results?
