Full Disclosure I'm a Dealer for EMM LABS!. Not just a dealer but a person who just cares about what sounds good to me in my system. Recently paired the DV2 with the PRE. WOW! No color, or artificial influences, it just presents the music. The music presented is open, detailed, with lingering acoustic subtleties. My other preamp to compare to is a Classe' Sigma SSP in XLR Bypass with Cardas Clear Beyond. Power cord is Furutech, Nano FP wire. I just use it as a 2 channel pre. The Classe' was designed with 2 channel as its priority. As good as the Sigma is, the PRE out shines it. I have Joseph Audio Pearl 20/20s, graphene midrange. I'm hearing more detailed characteristics with the PRE. With a mediocre recording the PRE is less forgiving. Which is no surprise. With the transparent nature of the DV2 and the PRE one could understand why that would occur. The simplicity of the PRE is refreshing! Anyone who knows the reputation of Ed Meitner knows this mans passion. Deeper down the rabbit hole!!
