Anyone upgrade form SR ist gen reference interconnect to current versions

I have a first generation ( not active) SR Designer reference XLR interconnect between my preamp ( ML 380S) and DAC ( ayre QX-5/20 ) and considering moving up to one of the more current SR active interconnects.  No real complaints but wondering how much technology has advanced and is it worth the investment to start the auditioning launch cycle .

Appreciate any experiences with similar upgrades and what level SR product my be a good choice without blowing the budget --aka Galileo is not even a consideration and no space for a grounding block.

Exactly what I am afraid of. Eyeing that Euphoria if I can justify the cost. BUT my long interconnect down to my basement is 25 ft long ( need about 15 ft) to my mono amps and that is NOT getting replaced.

Just too much. Its 20 yr Transparent reference XL so not exactly suffering too badly there even though I know it can be improved.

I am very pleased with my system right now but just adding a used SR Atmsophere ( last gen ) Ethernet cable made such a big difference, I got tweaked about the interconnect.

thanks for the input.
Thanks for your comments re: Euphoria.  Did you ever listen to the Excite in your system ?
I can get a pretty good trade up from Synergistic for my Designer Reference,

Looks like the  Euphoria would cost net around $2500. and the Excite around $1700. They use some fuzzy math on the passport program so the old interconnect is worth more if I buy the Euphoria than if I chose the Excite.
