I heard the 501s about a year ago. They were impressive in the bass, less so in the treble...in fact, far outclassed by the 350s (which I heard on the same day) in treble and also in soundstaging. I also did not find that the 501s really drew me into the music. I left with an overall impression of a neutral but fairly unremarkable speaker.
