Anyone Hear New Ohm Walsh MKIII driver upgrades?

I have the Ohm Walsh 200 MkII and am wondering about the "NEW" MkIII with the new silk-dome tweeeters? How do they compare? What changes were made? And most importantly how do they sound? .....And has anyone sold their Walshes and been satisfied with another speaker manufacturer?

I have owned and listened to the Ohm Walsh 5 Series 3 (Mk 3)for about 2 years since writing a review of them for Audioreview.com (I am also honored that Ohm website links to my review as I may have been the first customer to upgrade from the original classic Walsh 5). I will not rehash my review - suffice to say the Mk 3 upgrade is a quantum improvement on the original (which was Stereophile Class B). Two years later and several thousand hours later, the Mk 3's have improved significantly in midrange fluidness, detail retreival and believe or not, their already incredible bass. On one CD of Hindemith Organ Sonatas, the Ohms deliver the 16 Hz organ pedals flawlessly - you feel it and the house shakes but there is no audible doubling.

These are consummate performers that can deliver all genres of music with realism , dynamics, presence, staging and imaging. The Mk 3's do need power but are much more efficient than the original Walsh 5's which were insatiable power hogs. The bass reproduction is non-pareil and results in a soundstage of huge depth and realism. My 200W per channel Sumo amps drive the Mk 3 with aplomb and have never clipped, distorted, blown a fuse or run out of steam; and I am talking about Mahler and Bruckner symphonies are concert hall volumes!

To get the most of the Walsh 5 Mk 3 a big listening room with high ceilings is optimal. An acoustically damped room is preferred if one wants razor sharp imaging (holographic). The vocals are just perfect - vivid, natural and alive. These speakers just disappear and create a soundstage and image to die for. I am a demanding ex-classical musician and two years laters I have absolutely no criticisms or wants vis-a-vis the performance of the Mk 3s. These are fantastic loudspeakers.
