A couple years ago an audio friend bought a pair of Tylers as they were having some type of weekend reduction sale..he sent them back before i had a chance to hear them...or actually drove them back as we are close to Kentucky....i would strongly suggest listening before you buy or make sure there is a return policy in place.
Anyone have experience with Tyler Acoustics PD30?
I really like Ty, talked with him yesterday about his speakers and he offered to make me the PD30 if I wanted. Had never heard of them before but these are his horn speakers. I've had cornwalls and still have a pair of heresy 1's. Not a dedicated horn enthusiast but do like a well-done one. Don't need the ultra-high efficiency, my cherry class D amp is plenty powerful to drive pretty much whatever I want.
Since he doesn't submit for reviews and doesn't "encourage" online enthusiasm ;) like some other companies, it's tough to find information on his speakers.
It's really between his PD30, Highland H3.5 (a bit more expensive), or used Tekton Double Impacts. I think if I wanted to try the Tekton I would have a better chance of getting my money back if I didn't like them and wanted to resell. Budget is $2,800-$3,800.
Any advice is appreciated.
