I have a Bronze that I've recently replaced with a Hana Umami Red. I prefer the Umami by a small margin, slightly better detail being the main difference. I never found the Bronze overly warm in my setup. When I had the Bronze I also had a Myajima Shilabe which was better in the bass and just a tad warmer than the Bronze. I did have the Bronze retipped by Steve Leung and the new microline stylus sounded just fine, I wasn't able to tell a difference between it and the original Replicant stylus. I got a lot of enjoyable hours out of the Bronze and would recommend it if you can get one at a discount, it's a little more than I was willing to pay at retail. Mine was a low hours demo for $1800.
Anyone have experience to share regarding the Ortofon Cadenza Bronze MC cartridge?
I've been very happy with the Ortofon 2M Blue cartridge I use on my Technics SL1210G turntable, enjoying a lot of jazz and classical music. Obviously I've heard many times that a Moving Coil cartridge can reveal more detail so I've been thinking of upgrading to the Orotofon Cadenza MC Bronze. However, Orotofon acknowledges the cartridge is "tuned to be warm." How is this done and how does it affect music playback (i.e. rolling off treble, attenuating bass, etc.)? Anyone have experience with this cartridge they can share with me?
