Anyone had experience with a Musical Fidelity A5.5 integrated

I recently bought a second-hand MF 5.5 and find it lacks bass and presence. Is this normal? I am currently running it with Triangle Antal speakers, but have tried it with two other sets of speakers with the same results. The sound is detailed, with a decent soundstage, but is rather 'thin'. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
