Anyone familiar with Pioneer HPM 100 speakers?

$25 is a no-brainer. like mofi says, a big, bad, tons of fun rock and roll speaker--not the most detailed or transparent, but very dynamic and huge low end. going rate for these is $300-400, so you can always sell 'em if you don't like 'em.

The HPM series from Pioneer were their ROCK speakers to go head to head with the JBLs and Cerwin Vegas of the day.

I sold tons of that speaker back in the day. Really designed for LOUD volumes. Boomy bass and a pretty bright high frequency.

If they are in good shape, $25 is a great deal. You could always use them for outdoor parties...
