Has anyone had their Wadia 860 upgraded with this ' x upgrade "? Cost? Improvement? I'm not feeling guinea pig-ish. Does the unit have to be shipped, or is it done locally?
There is no sonic improvement with the x-upgrade. At least not when the W860 is used as a cdp. If you run a DVD-A into the Wadia or use a digital eq it may be different.
Of course, you can read this from about 20 different people in just about every usergroup........but before you do ANY mods on a Wadia player or transport...you absolutely should talk to Steve Huntley at Great Northern Sound. His number is 651-762-8333. I've had two GNSC modded transports....and they are spectacular.
