Hmmm.....never thought about tube replacement. I also looked a bit at the stereo amp and pre.
I touched base with a retailer and got on the AP - It is a bit “rounder” in is presentation. Same with the DAC. The DAC sounds really good but not a fast as the Hegel (the AP uses the Burr-Brown PCM1796 chip).
So based on my general taste, if i am going to bring one in and give it a spin, I am still leaning heavily with Hegel as i think that matches better at this point. And if not, then i will return and try the AP...it is a very nice looking unit (integrated or separates).
But....still not sure....i am not sure i am enjoying this, lol.
