I recently acquired a table which may fit your needs: a Revox 790. It's not bad sonically, and has auto return at end of record. Additionally, there is no "arm" per se; rather an arm gantry which holds the ultra short linear tracking arm mechanism and cartridge. The cartridge is largely protected as it it completely enclosed by the mechanism. The downside is that this is not a table which allows easy cartridge changes. Set up for a new cartridge is a bear, and the system demands a high compliance cartridge. Nonetheless, I was pleasantly surprised by the sound. Ditto for the other Revox tables, but the 790 seems most available on the used market.
Another option would be the Technics SL-10 or any in that series. Again, the cartridge is completely protected by the mechanism/cover. Downside again - p mount cartridges only. Again, the sound is surprisingly good. There are other cartridge-in-cover 'tables from other manufacturers of the era, but the Technics seem to be at the top of the heap.
While neither table has replaced my standards, either might work well in your particular situation.
