Any comments on the Sony XBR-X930D TV and the LG OLEDB6 TV?

I am a custom installer and we just installed one each of these sets the OLED blows away the Sony do not believe the reviews on the Sony, it looks very good but fails to have the extremely deep blacks or color saturation of the OLED. 

My reference is the Panasonic VT series plasmas, the OLED is the first TV that actually outperforms the Panasonic. You can call me for more info if you like, six four six two three nine seven seven two four. 

I just came off of a Elite Plasma as well. I spent a few years looking for a replacement as nothing in the LCD screen whether LED or Flouressant backlighting compares, so be prepared. I researched the OLED as I have be rolling that technology since I bought the Elite 8 Years ago. I told myself at that time, my next TV would be OLED. Sony was leading the OLED technology at that time on the consumer level. But they have failed to deliver, they had indicated that they were on the verge of releasing OLED but never did. They still leak that rumor, but it supports the acronym S.O.N.Y.-Soon Only Not Yet.
i did buy the XBR930D55 and and content with it but not thrilled. As mentioned I looked at the OLED and decided against it regardless of it's brilliance and true blacks. My personal finding was 1) the blacks lack edge detail, the processing is lacking to produce the details. Panasonic has a LG panel they are marketing with Panasonic processing and chassis and has solved this issue but expensive. 2)
i noticed some motion artifacting that could be annoying. 3) the Model I wanted was 4500 and I felt with no track record as the life expectancy of OrganicLED, I choose the Sony at 2100 (now less) and figured I would wait a few years. I think that OLED may be the future but Sony is also working on another nonLCD system known only as Crystal Vision at this time. So I will live with the Sony till then.

As far as my opinion of the Sony after 3-4 months is that it has a great picture. I still am working on dialing it in, but I am satisfied with my decision between the Samsung, LG and the Sony. The picture is, in my opinion very comparable in color reproduction to the plasma. But off axis it just dulls, and I have noticed that the edges of the picture can sometimes appear to lose contrast. But the detail is very good, bordering again with the plain of the Elite.

ome last note, Philips has just announced and OLED, but I haven't investigated, as I am happy for now and my reason number 3 above still applies. Only time will provide the real life expectancy period.

wait.  January CES  will reveal the next generation of Oled . Sony has abandoned Oled those they did preview were a small screen model.

I spoke with a Sony rep at a product viewing stating that Sony is still considering OLED for the consumer market. They have great professional monitors at a very high cost, but hey can't provide the quality they would like at the consumer level and meet a reasonable price point. 
But I think the Crystal Vision will be the next big thing from Sony, but when?

Thank you for your comments above.  I purchased the 55" LG OLED55B6 4K HDR Ultra HD TV based on its picture quality, physical size (very thin) and the apps available on the unit.  I compared it to the Sony and felt the LG OLED picture quality was better.  I also felt the LG OLED remote was easier to use.

I will connect my TiVo cable box to the TV using a HDMI cable and then will use an optical cable from the TV to my Prism Sound Callia DAC. The Callia DAC is connected to my Ayre AX-7e integrated amplifier using balanced cables and it to my Quad 2L Speakers.  In addition, I am using RCA connections from my TiVo cable box to my Ayre AX-7e amplifier meaning I can listen with,  or without the DAC being used.  This means fewer buttons to push for my wife. I am hoping to receive the unit this week.

Since I am using HDMI cable to my Pioneer Elite Pro-1150HD Plasma 50" TV, the optical signal output connection DID NOT work.   I was told that the newer "smart TV's", the optical connections do work.  The is because the TV can be used as source (Netflix, Amazon Prime, etc), or as a monitor meaning audio sound output is required.   The LG OLEDB6 TV has ONE digital optical audio output and NO analog audio outputs, or HDMI outputs.  For any TV purchase, please review your connection requirements to ensure you can make the required cable connections to your equipment.
