Amps.. Is Odyssey worth it?

Is the Khartargo or the Stratos worth it??

norge0517

I have  two sets, two Stratos Kismet amps I am now selling, and two Khartago amps. Along with odyseey tube pre-amps.  All are rock solid, and drive very very inefficient speakers.  The Khartago are newer, and much larger capacitors.

Hum from the amps is a recurring complaint by some Odyssey Audio customers.  i also encountered hum at first, but after trying different (better quality) insulated cables, I found the solution: cables with enough insulation, and presto, absolutely no hum.  Not an amplifier problem, this is a problem with high wattage custom upgraded monobloc amps that customers do not match with proper cables.  Yeah, it was my fault, too, but the solution was not expensive, just somewhat embarrassing.

Klaus has upgraded, replaced, traded amps, sold new amps with me over the past 15? years.  Always does his best and always more than fair.

In terms of problems with shipping, I have sent 60+ lb. amps back and forth to Klaus to upgrade (stereo to monobloc) or to purchase new, several times.  Never any problem --with one exception: one amplifier was shipped in a box that got thrown around and damaged in shipping.   Yet, despite the damage to the box, the amp is solid, and only needed to replace a fuse, and it works perfectly.

If you can find a remotely comparable amp for twice the money, I would be shocked.  Certainly, in all the years and all the money I have spent on stereos ove rthe years, and all the equipment I have listened to, nothing has come close at thrice the price.

@klausodyssey

I don't own any of your products; I've never even heard one.

But, based on your post, If I was in the market I would seriously consider purchasing one or more components from your company.
