amps cuts out using bass alignment filter

This could be simple but makes no sense. On the left side of my system when not using the baf no problem it works fine.
But when I use my Maughan box bass alignment filter, as soon as i plug it in the sounds goes out and the amps clicks. I tried another cable and it did the same thing. I took it to someone that hooked up using cheap cables and a low power amp, preamp and it did fine that way.

Why would it work fine not using it but then go out with the baf? More the amp not liking the baf or the inline break from the preamp. It worked fine in the past. I can touch the input rca on the amp and it buzzes,some sound but plug it in all the way and it goes dead, hear a click in the amp. Is this the protection, but what would cause it since it?
