Amp with best bass control

Which solid state amp(s) have you heard demonstrate the best bass control? I'm not talking "go the lowest", I'm talking "tight tight - super tight grip on the bass". I'm talking "fast" as well. The proverbial Kung-Fu Grip!

Thanks all!

My K brand has the most wonderful highs you could ever imagine!, likly, not brittle as your amp makes the highs, I have the legendary Krell 700cx!
@ Mbovaird, thankyou for your intro to this player, I will audition it to find out if its my flavor of tone and presatation, cheers.
I would say check the latest reviews, Boulder amps have to many parts the signal goes thru, we all know that when that happens, you have a supar sound, the krells have been hailed world renowned as the best solid state for the price points it sales at, there are many amps better than boulder amps, Krell has a few models that are better!,Boulder is a good amp, defiantly not the last word in solid state!,, all this does depend on the flavor of sound one likes, and system synergy!I also will add, todays reviews mean nothing but a interest for an audition, these reviewers are payed good money to say what ever is good for the company!, likly, checking user reviews is the way to go, awards and pro reviews are nice for a product, however, let your ears be the judge!
@ Zd542, Hi, Yes I am sure!, whats important, its to my liking, I am the one who lives with it, doesnt matter what anybody else may say, LOL, they have never listened to my rig!, the amp is only part of the sound, the whole of the system is what I hear!, eany way, I will rephrase the statement,, My K brand has the most wonderful highs to me!, thats the way I should have said that, sorry Zd542,, cheers.
@ p59teitel,,competitive fanboy postings notwithstanding!, you hit the nail on the nailhead!, lol!, Ha, ha, Ha!
@ Mbovaird, have you listened to the soulution501 monos?, what is your impressions if you have?
Hi Mbovaird, I have not had a chance to listen to soulution amps yet, your description sounds intriguing!, I cannot coment on these amps, however, the Dan D Agistino amps are worth a worthy audition!, I have always liked his house sound, I would really like to hear what you think of the Dan D Agistino amps, I have my impressions, I want for you to come back and share yours,, what was the model of Ear digital you like?, I would like very much to look into that!, cheers.
@ Mbovaird, I took a peek at the EAR Acute 3 player, The reviews was the best I have ever read! , guess what? I happen to own all the best Taralabs makes for cables!, and I am in the market for a disc spinner, I do not like Ayons house sound, thats the 6h30 tubes do not do it for me!, I have a Ayon 2s thats great if you like that kind of presatation for a sound stage!, can you describe the sound of the EAR Acute 3 player? cheers.
@ Isochronism, I did not know you had this equipment!, cerwin vega and JBl is my all time favorite for p.a. speakers, rest assured, your vega 18s would desamate anything in the high-end audio for sheer air movement alone, LOL! a krell would kick on this, how do I know, I have done this before!, I had a Krell fpb 200 on the cerwin vega v15E p.a. speakers, 6 ohms, 106 db sensativity!, that was awsome and very clear after I out fitted everything with the best of polycrystal resonance control, I put thousands of dollars of this stuff on this set-up to great effect!, till this day, the most musical system I have ever heard in my life, bar none!
@ Wc65mustang, No sir, I am not making fun of nobody!,what I said to Isochronism was a compliment in the best regards!, and what I said that I did with a Krell fpb 200 and cewin vegas, I actually did do!cheers.
@ Jafant, Hi, I use Taralbs to great effect, Great presatation, not forward sounding at all, unless your componet does the forward sound, cheers.
@ Mapman, Hi, Where is Bel Canto made at?, interesting your comment is. cheers.
@ Isochronism, Thankyou so much for the kind words, Lol!, I do not get many of them these days, Happy listening.
Hi Joeinid, I have heard many good things about you and your equipment, I am Keith, aka, Audiolabyrinth,, I just read your post, mike has spoke fondly of you, well, It appears you must of had the Dan D Agistino stereo amp?, if so, how much different did the stereo amp sound than the mono amps?, cheers.
@ Mbovaird, Hi, I was waiting patiently for you of all the posters here!, I knew you would come back and say what you did of the Boulder amps, my post earlier on this thread ring TRUE!, they suck!, I also knew you would love the Dan D Agistino amps!, He is the same designer of my Krell 700cx stereo amp!, my next amp will be a Agistino amp!, running hot does not bother me, My krell 700cx gets hot big time!, In the winter, if we drive it, and play it for a few hours, it will warm our three bedroom 2 bath house, saves on the power bill when we do that, we get to enjoy tunes, and do not need the central heat on, LOL!, your description of the Dan D Agistino amps is spot on spectacular!, Happy listening!
That's hilarious, This is Mbovaird's thread!, He is the op! melby, we all said the Boulder is good, there are alot better amps than my Krell 700cx and a boulder 1060, or any other Boulder amp! Mbovaird's preference with solid state amps is what it is!, You should be proud, He mentioned Vitus amps!, I know you are A vitus fan!, I would like to hear a vitus amp, never heard one, so I cannot comment on the vitus period! we are not tring to be mean to you!, you put us in a defensive mode here!, nobody enjoys that, I know deep down, you do not enjoy negative words to each other, please, lets all get along Melby!, No matter how much of a well seasoned Audiophile you are, people will like what they like!, an example of what i am talking about is, I do not prefer the sound of Thiel speakers, does not mean that they are not good, Just not my flavor, the same thing can be said about the Boulder amps, The Boulder amps are just not Mbovaird's flavor of sound, that certainly does not mean they are not good! we should never take preferences to the point of saying Hateful words to each other, the funny thing is, we all could start talking about that vitus amp, and we all would be best of friends again!, cheers Melbguy1.
@ Isochronism, Hi, Believe it or not, I never have, all the Taralabs threads here on the gon, somebody else started, I do not believe I have started a Taralabs thread eany where, mmmm, thats strange, since I am a avid advocate!, cheers.
@ Mbovaird, Hi, I see you are selling some very nice top tier High-end componets here on the gon, It appears to be nearly your entire system, Do you plan to get one of the Dan D Agistino amps and or pre-amps?, I would admire you hugely if you got eany model Agistno componets!, you know they make a stereo amp as well, basically a mono block that Dan split the power to make a stereo amp, sounds really good!, let me know if you would what you plan to use for a system now, Thankyou so much.
Thanks Mike, however, if you are in the market for speakers to go with the Dan D Agistino amps, Look no further than the JBL Everest DD 67000, these speakers will open a whole new world to you with High-End Audio!, You may not take my word on this, Go ahead and listen to these JBL speakers, Pair them with the Agistino amps, Likly, you will never change systems again!, And do the Taralabs top cables with this set-up, Its la,la, Land for sound!
@ Mbovaird, Thats cool, I am from Florida my self!, north west Florida, It is my exsperience with damping factors to sound alot worse than eanything I ever owned!, I bought a Rotel solid state amp back in the mid nintys, the dampning factor was thru the roof!, the amp sounded good, when I bought my first Krell amp, LOL!, that shitt was over!, there are many ways to do dampning, Isolation of your componets is way better than a specification that means, really nothing!, you should check out some still points ultra 5 cones that can be used for componets or speakers, they will do the trick!, you may not take my word on this mike, go and audition some, like you did the amps, you have to admit, I was correct about the Dan D Agistino amps, you may find this to be true with the still points ultra 5 cones, I awaite to hear from you, most enjoyable to talk with you, cheers.
@ Mbovaird, yes you are absolutly correct, to much isolation can turn out like to much room treatment!, its much easier to screw a listening rooms sound up from over treatment than it is with isolation, I really do not isolate, I tune with the cones by moving them around under componets to get the best pleaseing sound possible, and use objects on top of componets to help if needed,, I would spend days listening to the Agistino amp on your speakers before I would make a rash decision, what is the specks on your new speakers that are being built, if you do not mind me asking, and how many hours of burn in time will they take to achieve absolute best sound?, cheers.
@ Mbovaird, Hi, well you gave me some specs on your new speakers, I really wanted to know the khz and Hz frequency specs?,, wow!, there you go for sure, you can hear your speakers on the agistino amps, man, I really hope you get them!, I would be a puppy following you around to listen to your audio adventures!, someone like you can be a great asset to us all in this hobby, surely for me!, I just buy your hand me downs, LOL!,, To tell you the truth here, after my exsperience with recent foreign audio, I am more parcel to the american audio, Melbguy1 knows what I am talking about here, Ayon Equipment!, this is some of the reasons I talk about the Dan D Agistino Equipment!,I will look into the Audionet DNP pre-amp, I will post my thoughts back here, it will be just my opinion,,Mike, I really look forward to all your findings with the amps!, This is what I mean that you are an asset to us all, This is a compliment to you in the highest regards!I am well respected for what I have for audio, LOL!, not on the same level as you, I have very good, while you have the very best!, However, It does come down to how well you build a system and the system synergy!, I believe you will be fine thou, interesting question I have for you, what cables do you plan to use?, cheers.
@ Dave_72, Hi my friend, how have you been doing?, stick around, this seems to be a great thread for learning, BTW, I love doing!, Happy listening.
@ Melbguy1, Hi, I wished I had money to do what Mbovaid is doing!, unfortunally, I am not at the financial level he is enjoying! really, I agree with you, the merry go round is tiresome and to exspensive, kinda makes this hobby no longer enjoyable!, thats cause Its hard for me with the money, that takes a while for me to get! However, It is enjoyable to see someone living audio that I can only dream of!, cheers.
@ Mbovaird,,, If you are looking at the wilson speakers to mate with the Agistino amps to audition, why not make sure you take the ole word of a fellow audiophile and listen to some well broken-in JBL DD Everest 67000 speakers with the Dan D Agistino amps?, I do not believe you will be disapointed in the least bit!, as a matter of fact, In my opinion, There is no better synergy, but what do I know, right?, now this opinion is based on useing the best of what Taralabs makes for cables, I know the JBL speakers can be used in very large rooms, here is the kicker!, The JBL DD Everest Speakers were made in the u.s.a. for the Asian markets, like the Japanese market where they have small rooms, the speakers were designed to work in these enviraments, the asian markets could afford to buy these speakers, this speaker system is a sleeper!, there, in asia, the best speaker in their opinion money can buy!, Its worthy of your time, if they are properly set-up!, netherless,I look forward to what you say here, that is for sure!, Happy Listening.
@ Joeinid, hi, I am not sure if the Dan d agistino mono amps sound alot better?, Dan simply split the power on a mono amp to give a customer a stereo amp!, we all know, on the most part, A mono amp useally sounds better than stereo, I was currious to know if you heard the difference, and what was the difference with the sound?, I would be happy if you was to report back to me some impresseions if you were able to audition the mono amps, since you lived with the stereo amp, you could give an excellent valid answer here., cheers.
@ Rleff, Hi, yes, your Rolands are indeed good amps, congrats!, usa made!, Rolands and krell and passlabs have been around a long time, great american audio!
@ Isochronism, Thanks, do you know Judyazblues?, I do not!, never talked to this person about anything audio!, Isochronism go look on the digital, K-03 thread, this judy is there making static for me there to, LOL!, I must have something wrote on me saying, lets mess with this guy and see how much crap he can take, Ha, Ha,LOL!, oh well, I suppose they are having their fun!, I can do better, like ignore them!, However, its a shame that post like that ruin a thread, Thats it, we can call people like that, thread killers, Ha, Ha, LOL!
@ Melbguy1, Hi, why would you defend such a character like Judyazblues?, no one knows this person, I have never had a conversation with judyazblues before!, I believe Judyazblues is, what I call, A thread killer!, some people like to frustrate members cause they are bored and have nothing better to do!, I am not talking about you, you have done nothing, as a matter of fact, I have ennjoyed reading some of your post!, cheers to you Melbguy1.
@ Isochronism, Hi, I missed the point to, audiophiles every where like to make them selfs feel better about their equipment, we are talking about lots of money here!, society believes we are fools for the money we spend on audio!, I know Melbguy1 has alot to be proud of!, He has a wonderful system!, He talks about it, like we all talk about what we have and what we like to have, nothing wrong with doing so, It is my believe, thats what audiogon posting boards are about!, cheers my dear friend!
I do not have a past bad past history with no one but you Melbguy1, thats it, I have got Very high regards of my post from a huge amout of members!, as a matter of fact!, they talk to me on a regular basis on the telephone!, I get tons of E-mails, and have made a large number of very close friends with systems better and not better than my own, The Gentleman you talked to on this thread is highly respected!, Isochronism is one of my friends with a unique very exspensive system I converse with by phone and E-mails!, He is my special friend!, and friends like him are hard to come by!, I will take your advice and put negativity behind me!, and move on, thanks melbguy1.
