Altec Valencia’s one port in cabinet

Hi,

   I’m looking for a nice pair of Altec Valencia 846B speakers and came across someone selling a restored pair but it only had one port on the bottom left front of the cabinets. From the ones I’ve seen and heard, I cannot recall a one port model being made. As I have been told, one port is considered a ported model and two ports which is the normal configuration for the 846B’s is bass reflex. Is it the same thing or is one configuration better than the other. I’m wondering if the front baffles were redone on the Valencias and only a single port added as I cannot find any information written or pictures that show a one port 846B. Also the woofer is offset to right when looking at the speaker with the port on the left lower side. I would think if Altec did make them they would be mirror imaged but that’s just my take. Anyone have any input on this as I’m contemplating buying the speakers but something just seems off about them. Drivers are correct and crossover too from what I can gather.
