Altec Lansing 1594C - Anyone Familiar?

Hi folks. I just got two Altec Lansing solid state 1594C monoblocks and I'm trying to find out about them.

Does anybody know if these were considered 'good sounding' amps or were they just commercial workhorses? They work fine and they each came with a 15335A transformer. I also have some 15095A transformers which I'm using for testing and all seems nice, but my old ears aren't what they used to be.

They have stickers that say "Inspected 1988" so, I assume that's the date of birth.

Would these be worthy of re-capping?
