Aesthetix Romulus vs Lampizator?

Anyone out there have experience comparing Aesthetix Romulus and Lampizator?

I have been using a Romulus (Eclipse without volume control) for about 5yrs now and have been very happy with it! I periodically find myself thinking about trying another DAC and find myself looking at the mid-level Lampizators.

The only other DAC I have compared directly to my Romulus, was a Denafrips Terminator. I found it to be analytical and dry compared to the Romulus.

Anyway, I don't want to buy a Lampizator only to find out it is at the same level or below what I am currently using. It seems like it should be fair comparison Romulus vs Lampizator since they are both tube based DACs.

If anybody has tried both, I would love to know your thoughts on the topic.

Thanks and happy listening!

Hello designsfx!

The Romulus was the first piece of hifi gear I ever purchased that has tubes in it. My foray into the audio tube world continued after that with a 300b SET amp and a 300b push-pull integrated. Needless to say, I have been bitten by the notorious tube bug!

The tube rolling options are what really peaked my curiosity regarding the Lampizator DACs.

Which model are you using? Have you tried or listened to more than one?
