Yes, the transformer buzzes while the unit is in standby. It goes away when you switch it on.

Please tell me whether you can hear a VERY low, nearly imperceptible buzz/hum when the unit is in standby. It is only audible if your ear is virtually to the unit and disappears when the unit is powered on.
