Advice on wireless system

A new child requires that I transition my modest audiophile system to a more usable and available version.

My new system will be a home server with my digital music, combined with a remote system.

Here's my question:Would you recommend that I buy wifi speakers with an embedded amp (Eg Audio Engine), or just use my existing system, and get some sort of wifi link that connects the server/router to a wifi receiver that serves as a source for my preamp?

If the second, any specific hardware recommendations would be very welcome.

Thanks in advance,
Charles

So there is a child involved? That need the access also? Do they need to be able to fiddle with it too? Just question that you need to ask?

First what your trying to do, then the best way to get there..AY..

I'm not a huge WIFI fan and KIDS or kids or animals around microwaves either... No REAL sick kids here EVER thank GOD. Microwaves are just about waste high, think about it. I don't stand by them AT ALL...For a kid, head high.. THINK.... Standing by that stuff, NO it's not good...

I've walked into rooms and right back out..

The hairs standing straight up on the back of my neck... Twilight Zone!!
