ADS L1290/2 Speakers

I am running mine with a pair of Grommes LJ6 mono blocks which put out 12-14 watts per side. I don't have any power problems at all since the ADS are so efficient. It fills the room and is plenty loud.

I also have a pair of L1590s running off a Harmon Kardon PM665 which is rated at 100 watts per channel. If I turned that up to 11 on the clock I would be rattling the foundation loose.

If you are spending extended time listening to speakers like this at max volume your ears will not last very long.

Power hungry...that just doesn't sound like mine at all but I guess that's the point, I'm here to learn something and perhaps there is music genie hidden within these bad boys that I've been missing all this time. I'm currently driving them with a Kenwood KM-209 amp (100W) and it seems to deliver excellent sound as is. Hmmmm. Okay, I'll start looking for an upgraded amp to boost the power and see what comes out of the bottle. Thanks all

I would take a look at something from Odyssey Stratos line. Powerful affordable sturdy, for the price hard to do better.

I have a pair in my basement. The one thing I learned over the years is that they need a lot of power. I would be cautious about an integrated only because I think they need at least 200w per channel at a minimum and there are few integrateds that have that kind of muscle.

How much money do you want to spend? Do you want an integrated, separates? Off the bat a good integrated like a naim nait3 or 5 would go a long way to making your speakers boogey.
