ADS L-990

Anyone own these or care to comment on them? I'm looking for a 3-way ADS speaker that is floorstanding and these seem to fit the bill, but i've never been able to listen to them.

Thanks.

Great speakers. If you can find the L1290, I'd take those over 990 - more bass, a little better form factor. L1590 is nice too, but I think 1290 is the best of the bunch. Even though 1590 has bigger woofers, it actually has a little less bass (at least the M15 version does).

Ed's pretty much on the money. Myself I'd avoid the "M" series a/d/s speakers. L1290 and L1590 would be a good choice. Also consider the L980, with stands, and the elusive 910. I want to own a pair of 910's myself.

If you are anywhere near central Massachusetts, and you'd like to hear a/d/s speakers, I'll be happy to oblige. I have quite a few, including 1290, 1590, 980 etc.

Best,

Paul :-)
I LIKE THE L 990 BETTER THAN THE 1290. I LIKE ADS SIGNAL 10' IN
3 WAY TOWER.
If you are anywhere near MANHATTAN NYC NY, and you'd like to hear a/d/s speakers,AND ADS BI AMP, I'll be happy to DEMO , 1590 AND 1590 II, 980 1290 AND 1290 III ,990, 880, 880 II

I will never ever trade the 880, I hear the real sound of instruments through them!! Max Cohen, Conductor Newport Beach Ca.
Yeah, I've heard that the 880 is one sweet speaker. Very balanced from top to bottom.

Thanks for all the input guys.

I'm currently looking for 880's,1290's or 1530's

What exactly is the 910's driver configuration?

Thanks.
We'll I finally picked up some L-880's, and they are amazing. Does anyone out there have an owners manual or a crossover diagram for these? I'd like to replace the 25 year old capacitors with some Sonicaps, but some of the caps are covered with no listed value.

Thanks for any info guy's

I gave my daughter a pair of ADS 980's about 8 years ago
when I bought a Paradigms set up for a home theater. She pretty much has had them unused in her basement. I listened
to them in her basement with a middle of the road Sony
receiver and they seem to sound great with her modest set-up.

The speakers could use new grills and a little touch-up on the wood, but I think I might have to give her something and bring the ADS back to my home, I'm almost ready to put the whole HT thing in the can and just go with 2 channel, As a side I just
purchased a pair of Vienna Acoustics Concert Grands. I just
chimmed in because I have not heard a word about ADS in years.
