add XLR inputs to amp??

I'm interested in getting an EAD 5 ch amp for my HT to upgrade the current Sherbourn. The EAD 1000 has no xlr inputs and my cabinet is very tight for space..the current XLR's that I use sound very good an accommodate the space issue. Can I add XLR inputs to the back of the amp or would it require more internal electronics in the amp. I'd be okay with cutting and soldering in the connections if that's all it would take. Thanks
