Actual Lead Time on Tekton Speakers

Hi All-

I've had a pair Tekton speakers and a sub on order since the last week of February. When I placed the order they said they were running 8-10 weeks for shipment. I knew at the time that these were made to order and that there was a substantial lead time, so I'm not complaining. But I'm like a kid on Christmas Eve...

Can anyone who has recently received their speakers tell me how long it was from order to shipping?

Thanks,

G

When I first asked for the shipping date of my moabs they told me mid-May. I have not received them yet.

I write every week and every week I get replies like: we’re shipping them next week, we’re waiting on some components, the woofers are downstairs, we expect them to ship soon.... I don’t want to say that this says anything about the quality of the speakers I’ll receive (I’m not a big believer in the inductive approach)... I know a lot of people who do an outstanding job but are a disaster at communicating with customers. But at some point and age I would put a "character" like this prominently displayed on the company homepage. Something like "We make the best speakers but deliver when we want to. Don’t bother us via email or phone, you won’t get anything out of it." Simply out of respect for others.
Who are you talking to? Me? But if I never asked for anything right away! I only asked for strightforwardness. Save the sermons with me, thanks.
If you are able to formulate such a convincing explanation, why aren’t they at Tekton?
I can understand if you miss a promise once or twice, nobody complains. But if you put a person to write e-mails that are systematically broken promises, then it seems to me that there is a vision of the world that we are used to recognise in large companies, those that are at the mercy of their own inscrutable rhythms and are excluded from a human relationship. Tekton, on the other hand, could still play the card of a decent human relationship. In this sense sincerity would certainly be a winner, for them and for their customers. In any case, it’s a question of taste and priorities.
I'm trying to reach tekton by mail and by phone but there is no way they answer the mail and no way they pick up the phone. So i write here knowing that those speaker manufacturers often read more the forums as their mailbox... I paid 500$ for shipping the Moabs to my home in italy and now the courier says the shipment tekton purchased arrives only to Milan Airport and that i have to pay additional 350 Euro to have the speakers at my home. But i asked Tekton to send the speakers to my home and not simply to my country... I want the spakers at my home and i don't want to spend one signle additional euro for the shipping (excluding the import taxes obviusly which belong to me).
Hi MC, thanks for your wise advice. I figured out what I need to do... I'm going to rent a truck for 400 euro, drive 450 km to Milan and back to my house spending another 400 euro in diesel and highway tolls and then I'm going to kindly ask you to give me some sympathy lessons. Then I will write to Tekton to thank them for enlightening me on how in the USA companies give us the opportunity to show how much we are prone to their brands.

I paid to have the Moabs at my home, tekton never told me the moabs will stuck at 450km from my home, tekton has to help me hout. I asked tekton a 350 $ refund in order to pay the courier to my home. I think it would be an elegant way to quit this "misunderstanding" as Tekton says (yes... They answered me by mail 60 minutes after my previous post and giving me more or less the same whise advises MC give me).
On the other hand, if Tekton was aware of the extra cost to deliver the speakers to your home, that cost would have been added to the overall purchase price of the moabs. So you are where you would have been anyway, except as you state above, it was a miscommunication. End result, would your decision to purchase the speakers have changed knowing of the extra costs?

The only answer to such a indescrete question is... who knows!
Or maybe you can find the answer by asking yourself another question: would Tekton have sent me the Moabs if for some reason I had sent them 350 euros less than indicated on the invoice?
It's been another 5 days and 4 emails to Tekton. No response. Fortunately I have their invoice where my address is listed and the total shipping cost. By the way Tekton wanted to be paid before sending me the invoice! Can you imagine? As if I bought something without having a written proof of the exact content of the purchase! Crazy. I had to ask 4 times and wait for one week only for the invoice. Luckily I didn't pay first.
Thanks to all and thanks to Tekton, the Moabs are going to arrive at my home monday morning. Can't wait! The first challenge of the Moabs is to beat the Dynaudio contour 60 i own. This should be an easy task since the Contour 60 is a speaker which does simply everything wrong (save your energy telling me that the Contour 60 sound great or even decent)
X tvad. Just a further mail asking gently for a refund, and... the posts i wrote in this thread and the thoughts of this community. I know from my experience with dynaudio that speaker manufacturers care more about forums as of their inbox. Thanks again and yes, i will 100% share my impressions and probably even some crappy and useless side to side comparisons between C60 and Moabs.

Missioncoonery, do you know Tekton speakers Well? Do they sound bad? I never heard them.
If it's worth... i didn't had better experiences with bigger companies like Dynaudio and their resellers. I bought a pair of disgusting contour 60 which i wanted immediately to return (in europe you can return watever you want within two weeks if the purchase has taken place via internet), but Dynaudio refused.
I got my Moabs too. They are with no doubts better as my Contour 60, which is easy becasue even my small and old genelecs are better, even the 40 years old vintage bose 505 of a friend of mine are much, but much better as the Contour 60. For better i mean simply more accurate regarding timbre and soundstage. Said that the Mobs are very interesting, revealing and fun. But my Contour 3.3 (which i owned only for two years) are still much better (timbre and soundstage). However i think the amplification i'm using with the Moabs,  krell 400xi, s not the optimal one.
