Acrotec directional? silver/gold banded rca's

I have an older pair of Acrotec 8N-2080 interconnects.  At one end the RCAs have a silver band on them, and at the other a gold band.  I assume that this is meant to indicate directionality, but there's no other indication.  The one thing I found on Google did seem to confirm this, but didn't reveal which end was which.

Anyone have any experience/knowledge?
