I was listening to the Adagios a few weeks ago and I must say that they sounded really nice. I went a different route though but I am using Acoustic Zen interconnects and power cables throughout my entire system. That would be my suggestion because they represent great value for the performance they deliver.
Acoustic Zen Adagio + REL Strata iii's
I purchased a pair of Acoustic Zen Adagios last week. They took some tweaking, but eventually they sounded spectacular. It is my plan, however, to purchase a pair of subs for a bit more bass extension and what they can do for the soundstage. Well... it will probably be a few months before I can afford them. It will also take some time to research, audition, etc.
But... this afternoon, I noticed on CL a guy selling a REL Strata iii for $450.00. I called him up and asked him if he would take $300. He did! It is in PRISTINE condition. After about two hours of fiddling with it, I sat in my listening area and was blown away. Form Coldplay to Johann Strauss, the Eagles to Hilary Kole, it was amazing.
A couple things. Teajay, if you are out there in cyber space--thanks again for the good advice.
For those who are still considering whether they should add a sub (or subs) to their two channel setup, find a good deal and give it a shot.
Finally, when I start looking for matching subs, my first stop will be REL. Don't know if they will be the ones I will end up with, but they have definitely earned a careful look.
BTW, does anyone know where I can get better cable than the stock one?
