Hey guys it's the k300i. It really doesn't seem bright at all. I have more dampening comming. Now I wanted to ask about this issue
I contacted GIK, did their room module, sent in pics. My room is 15 x 13 x 9
They recommended like two grand of absorption and zero diffusion. Is that normal?

Mine are the pre diamond series. Not going to sell them now. Would like to start elsewhere. I mean considering all my other equipment……. A denon receiver and laser tv….. no matter what you think about b&w they are definitely the best thing in my system right now

For about 6k I can get a newer Krell integrated with DAC built in. How would that pair with b&w

would the krell be a big step up from the parasound? Also Hegel 390 is about the same price as the Krell. Anyone compare the two. Audiotroy I know you are a dealer, but is there a reason that you chose to sell Krell over Hegel?
Okay super stupid question here. If it makes you laugh that is okay. I know that, at least from what I can tell Aurrender and Innuous seem to be the audiophile pick for streamers, but I was thinking of mating the Krell with built in DAC and a Rose streamer. In a kiddish way the Rose looks so cool.
Okay question is this..... With the Rose I can connect to my TV and listen to YouTube music or even see the lyrics while the music plays. I know that sounds stupid but I like it for some reason. Is this a feature only on the Rose or does every streamer do this?

Mesch, yes they are! I don't think I will need a sub either. Plenty of bottom end on those suckers in that room.
Why such hate for B&W from some. Too bright for many correct? I did hear some Harbeth speakers on a nice rig about 3 years ago that sounded awesome!

It seems like with audiophiles it’s kind of like when you were a kid…. you were always looking for the new band that nobody knew ….and if you were the first one that found the new cool band you felt like a boss. Bands like the Beatles were good but if you were the first to find out how good Led Zeppelin was well crap you were a boss. Kinda feel like Mac is the Beatles. Does that make sense? People wanna be first to find the new special brand.
Also so many different perspectives on what you find important. I don’t even know yet. Maybe I’m so new I just want something to blow me away but in the future I will have a different opinion on what I appreciate

just pulled the trigger. I will have this amp for 30 years. Its everything I need right now. Maybe one day Ill go with Harbeth's and tube separates!

Petaluman, that is a great idea! I will definitely do that as I move through this journey but the Krell makes sense to me. I listen to rock, some country, and that is about it. I have the little LS Kef's in my living room and love how easy they are with everything built in. They sound great, but nothing close to my B&W's. At least to my ears.
any suggestions on cabling guys?

you are definitely right about the mix of fun and frustration. i will build around this amp. last nigh listening to my speakers with jus the reciever and tv I'm starting to understand what people are saying about bright with the B&W It will be interesting to see what the krell does to the system!

Alright boys and girls, got the Krell last night. Stayed up a little too long, drank a little too much for a Thursday. Already really enjoying it. after about two hours of warm up the things I noticed right away were the soundstage was much bigger, better separation of instruments, and I believe what people call "fleshed out" Just seemed more like the band was in the room. I think that is correct. I'll be listening again tonight after leaving it on since I got it. Last night I was just listening through Blue tooth on my phone streaming Tidal. Is this how everyone is listening?
Should I look at getting a power cord?

well the Krell has a streamer built in so I'm not really using my phone as the connected device,
BUT I believe that getting a stand alone streamer should step-up the game. Like I said I'm a newbie soooooooo need help on this one. How much would I have to spend to better the built-in streamer, also, how do I optimize the one I have?

Lol some of the responses are Crazy. Agree, that HR receivers are thin, also noisy compared to the Krell. Noise is one of those things you don't know you hear until you don't.
