Should I go with an 8 OHM speaker if I am using the multiroom feature on my Marantz 8200 to drive a pair of floorstanding speakers in an adjacent room? I had heard that the 4 OHM would be less efficient and therefore tougher to power..Any suggestions?
A 4 ohm speaker is basically twice as hard to drive as a 8 ohm speaker. 0 ohms is a direct short. Your receiver specifies 8 ohm speakers for everything else.I sure wouldn't try 4 ohm speakers for the second room outputs.
