Interconnects for MHDT Orchid Thanks for all the input about tubes. Any other suggestions about the cables and/or cables/tube combinations? Thanks
Interconnects for MHDT Orchid Thanks or all the responses, decooney, which Tesla tube did you use?
Interconnects for MHDT Orchid I have been using an old TADAC DAC which had balanced outputs. So I had been using Acoustic Zen Matrix Reference II balanced cables. So, with the Orchid I need to switch to RCA cables. I know they make an adapter (balanced to RCA) but I read some ...
Interconnects for MHDT Orchid Thanks for your responses. A "transparent, lively cable" was mentioned. Any specific name of cables? Any other MHDT users out there?
looking for interconnect under 200 dollars You might consider JPS Ultraconductor2. I auditioned them from Cable Co. and liked them quite a bit. Ultimately went with a used pair of Acoustic Zen Matrix from their used section but it was a bit over your $ limit. Anyway you can try many pairs ...
NACA5 Speaker Cable Thanks to all for the responses. I've got a 15 foot pair so I don't think I need any more of it. It is stiff so I can't imagine trying to biwire with it.Andrew
Problem advice please Same thing happened to me with a Parasound preamp. I inadventently "rebooted" it by unplugging the unit. When I plugged it back in - lights were on. Worth a shot.Andrew
Where to see Audio in Manhattan You might consider Rhapsody too. They carry some lines not available elsewhere. Friendly & knowledgeable too.AW

Best-front ported monitor speakers? I definitely would consider the Joseph's. As an owner of the 25's, however, I might be considered biased ;)If you're in NYC they can be auditioned at Rhapsody.BTW, while you're checking them out, you might also consider a nice Korean tofu restaura...
Joseph Audio RM 25si vs Sonus Faber Grand Piano I own the Joseph's (Mk2 version) and am extremely happy with them. In my auditioning they beat out comparably priced Thiels (2.4), Audio Physic (Tempo), Revel (F30) and Totems (Forest) but I have not heard the SF's. Thus, I can't offer any compari...
Linn Basik Tonearm - effective mass? Thanks for your interest throughout.Andrew
Linn Basik Tonearm - effective mass? I don't know what the parameters ought to be. All I know is that with my current system woofer excursions happened. Previous to the Grado I had a Linn K9 cartridge mounted with no problem evident.Whether Grado is being straight up or passing the b...
Linn Basik Tonearm - effective mass? This is an update for those who might have wondered about this thread's issue:1. The Linn Basik arm is 12 g.2. Grado states that this is too little for the Platinum cartridge. Thus, use caution in purchasing Grado's for use with such arms.Andrew
Linn Basik Tonearm - effective mass? Twl,Thanks for your response. If I was certain that it was a compliance problem (although it likely is) I would go ahead and get a new cartridge. However, this is still less than completely clear. I'd rather not get a new cartridge and have the pr... |
