Powered speakers show audiophiles are confused
I don't mind active or powered speakers, but my last set of actives had failed amps on both speakers. Now I had no speakers or amps working correctly. Great that they were under warranty and such but I'd rather not be out everything for at home re...
Floorstanders vs Bookshelf
I’ve had headaches with a couple speakers before. The Triangle Borea Br03 was the last one. I liked the sound but it just was debilitating headaches. The Monitor audio isn’t as bad but my ear drums feel like they are on fire, even at low level cym...
Your method for discovering great music.
Love Radio Paradise for finding new music. Probably the only thing I miss about my previous job was listening to it all day!
Supply chain affecting anyone?
Yep for sure. Was wanting to get a Schiit Jot 2 to use as a pre amp and HP amp. Didn’t want to wait 6-8 weeks so went with an RME dac instead since it was available. Hopefully it’s a good second option.
Active (or Powered) Speaker with AMT or Ribbon Tweeter
Ah yes, the Dali was a little out of my price range, (the Elac and AE1 only are in it because there are open box options for both available). I do enjoy Dali sound though with my Menuets.

Dali Owners,What Cables Do You Use???
I was thinking of getting the Dali Menuet or SE edition, the brown is just a major turn off to my significant other. Part of me wants to hold off and see if they just update the line totally with the other finishes. Anyways I think this speaker ti...
Which speakers did you find bright, fatiguing or just disappointing in some way?
Not high end but the Triangle Borea BR03 I found very bright and gave me just terrible headaches. I actually loved the sound itself and thought it was a great imaging speaker, but I literally felt like my brain was melting.
Speakers good for close to wall placement
I have read that Audiovector QR series do well, but I had bought Martin Logans before I found out about this so no first hand knowledge. I've had no issues with my ML Motion 35 XTI speakers on a desk fairly close to a back wall.
