Music Servers - Baetis vs. Music Vault
So, I have had the Baetis XR2 for about a month now, and I'm very happy with both sound quality and functionality. I'll answer any specific questions anybody may have, to the best of my ability. The one thing worth mentioning, however, is the outs...
Tube pre-amps: what defines "better"
Jafox, Gs5556 said, "Generally speaking," implying his awareness of anomalies such as the one you identify. There always have been instances where companies charge more because their brand name recognition allows them to, notwithstanding better qu...
Tenor Audio
The end of "next week" has come and gone since the message was posted on Tenor's web site about being ready to service products (11 days and counting). Does anybody have any updated information? Thanks. Lou
Alternative Rack to Salamander
Thanks for your very helpful responses. I have a couple of Neuance shelves, which help, but there are still resonance issues. But these suggestions prompted me to do some fruitful research, and I am going to be experiementing with a few resonance ...
Alternative Rack to Salamander
I like the Sistrums very much. I spent a lot of time admiring them at CES. Unfortunately, they are exactly the sort of thing I cannot have. I need something that at least smacks of looking like furniture, which is why I got the Salamander in the f...
Tenor Audio
Well, not quite. The 2-line post states that they "will finally be in a position to service all products by the end of next week." So I suppose this is an announcement of their intention to be "back" in the near future. My breath, she does not hol...

Will gstubes match tubes? Tubestore doesn't provide matching for large power tubes, and I don't know anybody with a tube tester (except Vlad Shushurin, but I assume he's not gonna test tubes for me).

Well, replacement tubes is what I want to talk to them about. I guess now that the warranty is worthless anyway I could just get 6C33Cs elsewhere, but I thought I'd try them first.

Review: Equi=Tech ET5W-Q AC filter
The ET5W with the Q option was a little over $5k. Having it cryogenically treated cost another $500, and the other components (outlets, cabling), together with their cryo treatments, added another $500. Shipping wasn't cheap either, but Bill only ...

Lamm ML2 Vs Tenor 75
On safety ...I listened extensively to Tenor/Kharma and Lamm/Kharma in a controlled environment. I chose Tenor despite my own conerns about OTL safety. It seems one of the output tubes in one of my Tenors was, unbeknownst to me, damaged in shipmen...
Amp suggestion for Kharma Ceramique 2s??
I have not yet upgraded the tweeters. I am waiting to see if Kharma comes out with something new next year. I am fortunate to live only about 45 minutes from GTT's location, and Bill was kind enough to pick up and drop off my speakers for me in hi...
Amp suggestion for Kharma Ceramique 2s??
Henry, it might not be your amp. How old are your Kharmas? If they are more than a couple of years old, I suggest looking into a crossover upgrade. I had the crossovers in my 5-year-old Kharma 2's upgraded to "Enigma" by Bill and Anthony at GTT an...
EMM Labs DAC6 vs. latest version dCS
I just ordered the DCC2 and modded Phillips from Bill at GTT. The pair is a bit under $12k. I heard the full dCS setup as well as the Meitner setup in Bill's very fine listening room (Lamm, Tenor, Kharma), and to my ears, the Meitner sounded far m...
