Ordered a Willsenton R300
I just received the Willsenton R300 from China Hi-Fi.  First off, to state the build quality is good, is a gross understatement.  The build quality is as good or better than some $5k amps that I’ve owned.  As for parts quality, that is another mat...
R.I.P: Rest In Peace Roy Johnson, Green Mountain Audio's Genius
Grannyring, I respect your position and in fact do understand where you were coming from.  However, who really gets to determine “what is right” and “the right thing”?  It’s not like this is being done at his wake or a memorial service.  No one he...

I couldn’t agree more.  I’ve made my point as others have too.  Roy was still one of the best speaker designers out there.  Many have debated his claims of time and phase but the debate always ended when they would actually hear one of his better ...

Also be mindful, even though this  is an internet based community, MOST, if not all who are posting here have been in this community with numerous verifiable transactions for many years.  I’ve been an Audiogon member for a long time.  I just choos...

Grannyring, please allow the mods to look at my feedback if credibility is what you seek.  Have a glass of scotch and take it light.  Just because a little truth tastes like sour milk in your cereal doesn’t give you the right to keep others experi...

Apparently, csmgolf is unaware of estate law (me too but I’ve always wanted to say that)!  Anyway, maybe there is some recourse for those who got screwed.  You can contact a lawyer to go after his estate.  ITS PROBABLY NOT WORTH IT THOUGH BECAUSE ...

I’m a long time Green Mountain Audio fan.  The best system I’ve owned over the last 30 years had Green Mountain speakers.  The clarity and coherence of his designs were second to NONE! Roy was also very giving of his time as he did love to talk.  ...
Magnepan 1.7 crossover capacitor improvement?
Hey David. Thanks for the detailed response. I really appreciate that. One thing I'd like to mention though. While I really like Mundorf caps, I have never had success with the Supremes. I have used them on tweeters and I've used them as coupling a...
Magnepan 1.7 crossover capacitor improvement?
I completely agree with Larry. Some caps go through their changes for up to 400 hrs. Teflon can take up to 600hrs to settle down. As stated earlier, change one cap at a time and let it cook as Larry has suggested. You might even consider taking ou...
Magnepan 1.7 crossover capacitor improvement?
I forgot to ask. How hard is it to get the sock off of the 1.7's without destroying it? I want to change out the inductor and a few caps myself but I don't want to trash the speakers sock in the process. Thanks in advance.Joe
Magnepan 1.7 crossover capacitor improvement?
One cap at a time. I think the cap last in line before it goes to the mid panel is a 6.8 Axon. That is the cap u might try first. A safe bet would be to try a Sonicap. They are very neutral, fast and provide very good resolution at a reasonable pr...
Magnepan 1.7 crossover capacitor improvement?
What is the rest of your system? What cables are u using? How close are the 1.7's placed to rear wall and side walls?
