Home theater crossover question
After digesting all of the advice, I compromised and set all crossovers to 150hz. Movies sound great and CDs sound about as good as I can get them to sound with this system, good enough for occasional listening. I still have my 2-channel system fo...
Home theater crossover question
Thanks for all the responses. My speakers are Infinity TSS-1100s (5 small 2-way speakers and the sub). Infinity recommends a subwoofer crossover setting of 120hz-150hz for the setup, so I reset all speakers to crossover at 120hz. Javachip and Kr4,...
Home theater crossover question
Thanks. I knew that re-routed bass and LFE were separate, but there is no info on the receiver as to the frequency response for the former, so I assumed it was the same. In any case, my subwoofer's frequency response is listed as 29hz-150hz, so I'...
Infinity Charcoal stands with Platinum Speakers

Surround speakers slightly in front OK?
I've solved the problem. With the surround speakers mounted slightly in front of my listening position, the surround quality is quite good. When the wife isn't around or if/when she accepts the idea, I can move the surround speakers (they are on s...

Surround speakers slightly in front OK?
Onkyo TX-SR803 AV Receiver, Infinity TTS-1100 Speaker System. The speakers are too large to mount over the door. If slightly in front isn't acceptable, I'll mount them on the back wall.
Surround speakers slightly in front OK?
Centered about 2 feet from the back wall. Farther in cuts off access to the room from one of the doors.
Surround speakers slightly in front OK?
Iplaynaked, I haven't considered ceiling mounts, but I can mount them on the back/side wall corner next to the ceiling. I have the Infinity stands that require no mounting, but a door makes me place them slightly in front. The wall mount is my nex...
Home Theater or stick with 2 channel?
I don't plan on combining any components. I plan on totally replacing my 2 channel system in the family room as long as the surround sound doesn't sound weird to people sitting against the side wall. My wife can't hear the difference in sound qual...
