VIVID AUDIO SPEAKERS Answering your question: YG or Magico don't compare to Vivid in my mind. The Vivid speakers are way more musical and real sounding.
VIVID AUDIO SPEAKERS I love the vivid speakers. I think they the most natural sounding speakers I have experienced. Highly dynamic, realistic, lively, and never fatiguing. I have owned many speakers along the years, including Avalon, Wilson, and Magico. Go and listen ...
Speakers that excel at depth/layering/space Vivid Audio speakers B1 - one of the very best speakers, particularly exceling in depth, layering, and soundtage. Haven for classical music and jazz. I used to own Avalon, Wilson, and MBL and by far these are better. I do not like the Magico (noth...
Any experiance with the MBL refernce CD adn DAC MBL has three lines of digital gear- basic, noble, and reference. I had the noble line (1511D/1521) for two years and liked it a lot. Then I received the 1611E/1621 which is overall much better. There is no doubt - MBL does great products, very mu...
Rowland Amps with MBL Speakers vs. All MBL System To Jeremy: I'm driving my MBL 111 with Pass Labs X-350, and considering changing to the new 350.5. Have you compared it to the new 9007s. The price difference is BIG, and I'm wondering if at all justified.
Best Digital source - HE2005 Guys, the dac/transport I heard on day one of the show must have been the mid-price level and not the reference as I indicated before. How can it get better then that?
Best Digital source - HE2005 To Avantgarde: Aren't the wpc for the 9007 is almost like the 8011?
Best Digital source - HE2005 I also enjoyed the 9007. It’s not on their web-site; I guess it must be a new amp.
Best Digital source - HE2005 Slipkont1, it was the second time I've heard the TAD-1, and once again I was amazed by that speaker. What did you think about the EMM Labs or DCS vs the MBL digital?
HE 2005 Show Reports Thread I realy liked the DCS one piece, but thought MBL digital is amazing.
Best Dac/Transport Under 50,000 I did compare to MBL reference dac/transport (40K) to Emm Labs/Meintner and here is my humble opinion. The Meintner has a very analog sound, wide sound stage and good sense of focus. I felt it was much better then almost everything I've herd until...
Build a system around speakers in the $5-$7.5K This is a very subjective question. However, I personally would go on a natural and musicaly sounding system. MBL is ideal for both amplification and source, but you would better look for used equipment. Alternatives for the gear could be Plinius ...
Plinius SA250 and Bryston 14 SST The Bryston 14sst is a good solid-state amplifier, however it is very different from the Plinius 250IV. I compared the two a while ago, and liked the Plinius much better. Compared to the Bryston, the Plinius runs in higher current so you could rea...
Is there any obvious advantage for monoblocks? The Channel seperation of the SA-250 is superior to that of the SA-102 and it delivers more current, so you can enjoy both worlds: better seperation (close to what monoblocks will get you) and better soundstage.
Digital cable for MBL dac/transport ? I'm using Wireworld starlight-5, which was the company recommendation, and I'm happy with that. I know that other people with MBL like the Siltech cable, however I have not compared the two. |
