About to audition Vienna Acoustics Beethoven Grand Reference - advice?
Congrats on your new VA speakers.  I recently bought VA BBGs, Symphony Edition (NOS).  What is the difference between the new Reference and the replaced Symphony Edition?  I find it interesting you liked Focals which to me are polar opposites from...
So I'm still searching for the right amp...
two left ears is spot on!  You will get more detail with your SimAudio Moon.  Nicely done!
best budget amp/preamp for B&W 805 D3s
I do not know how you will get a quality integrated for $1000 which will nicely drive your B & Ws.  B & Ws require quality amplification and are finicky with electronics to boot.  A budget expansion is required in my opinion.  Good luck!
Need some Tube and Class A SS Suggestions
A friend of mine had the Spendor D7s and was having the same experience as you.  He found the solution to be a Luxman tube integrated.  He later swapped the Spendors for Harbeths but that was also due to a problematic room.  Good luck as this prob...
Time for the Dynaco to go, Affordable Integrated or Separates for Wilson's Under $2.5K?
Another vote for a Parasound Integrated; simply the best integrated under $3000.  Good luck!
Older And Wiser or just Tighter and Deafer?
You sound like a mature adult; congratulations, as many people never reach the destination!
Hegel or Pathos?
I agree with steve59, it appears Hegel is an excellent choice for my KEFs but the Pathos would be a poor fit with them.
Looking for a SS integrated amp... approx. $1200 range
I would like to caution you on buying Primare equipment.  I bought a Primare stack on Agon, I-22 and CD-22.  Nice equipment, demos for 6 months from a dealer.  I enjoyed the equipment but wanted more power, I called Primare to ask where was my clo...
Best Integrated Amp for KEF Reference 1s Under $5K New or Used
I own KEF R-500s ($2600 MSRP), and my dealer recommended Hegel H190 integrated amp, 150/250 wpc.  H190 is $4000 new and $3000 used.  He said for KEFs to really dance they need a high current amp.I bought the H-190 and was amazed by the difference ...
Revel’s Sound Signature
I agree with steve59; Revels are much like KEFs, in fact I was demoing both when I decided on KEF R-500s; I know KEFs need reference amps to get them to dance and I recently received advice that Hegels were a good match for both.I never heard NHT....
More Dynamic Speakers Than Vienna Acoustic
Your original premise is right on; Vienna Acoustics speakers are generally understood to be refined, highly detailed, with a hint of politeness.  My dealer strongly recommended a high current amp like a Hegel H190 to drive the Mozarts or the Hegel...
Kef R series or Tannoy Revolution Series?
I do not have any experience with Tannoys;  I recently bought KEF R-500s for $1800 (NOS) from a dealer.  Audiotroy has a good point and at 42% off is a nice deal.I would agree that the R-500 does not have tremendous bass but what the salesman sugg...
Best new or used intergrated amp or separates for Vienna Acoustics Mozart Grand Speakers
I bought a Primare stack, both the I-22 and the CD-22 stack off Audiogon, paid $1400 for the I-22 with DAC.  Dealer demo, 6 months old, MSRP of $2495; 80 wpc @ 8 ohms, 160 wpc @ 4 ohms. I was going to buy a pair of Vienna Acoustics Mozart Grands b...
